Custom Islands & Countertops
The two surfaces that decide how a kitchen works, designed together and priced in writing.
Custom islands & countertops are planned as one piece at JBN Kitchen Remodeling. The island sets the room's workflow and storage. The stone on top sets how it seats, preps, and cleans up.
Start with the island
Custom Islands & Countertops, Planned as One Piece
Most kitchens fail in the middle. The counters along the walls fill up, seating lands in the cook's way, and storage runs out before the groceries do.
A custom island fixes the middle first. Its size, seating, and storage are drawn around your room and your habits, then the countertop is chosen to match how hard that surface will work.
When custom islands & countertops are designed together, the overhang, the seams, the outlets, and the walkways all agree with each other. Nothing gets improvised on install day.

Built around your kitchen
What Goes Into a Custom Island
An island is furniture, counter space, and traffic pattern at once. These four decisions shape every set of custom islands & countertops we build, and they are made at your table, with your room measured in front of us.
Size and Shape
Length, depth, and walkway clearance are set by your room, not a catalog. Aisles stay wide enough for two cooks and an open dishwasher door.
Storage in the Base
Deep drawers, pull-outs, and a trash pull-out are planned around what you own, so the counter above stays clear.
Seating and Overhang
The counter extends past the base with proper support, giving stools real knee room instead of a perch.
Power and Plumbing
Outlets land where mixers and laptops plug in. A prep sink or dishwasher is added only where the lines run clean.
The stone on top
Countertops Templated to Your Cabinets
Stone is not ordered off a measurement scribbled on a pad. It is templated after the cabinets and island base are set and level.
A template captures every wall wave, corner, and overhang exactly, so the cut stone arrives fitting the room it was made for. Seams are planned where eyes and hands notice them least.
For custom islands & countertops, quartz, granite, and other stone options are reviewed with samples in your own light, beside your own cabinets, before the order is placed. Edge profiles are chosen the same way.

One project, one crew
On Their Own, or Inside a Full Remodel
Custom islands & countertops can be the whole project, or the centerpiece of a full kitchen remodel. Either way, one division coordinates the work.
As a single project, the visit confirms the room can take an island: clearances, floor condition, and electrical runs are checked before anything is promised or priced.
Inside a full remodel, the island and stone are sequenced with cabinets, flooring, and tile, so surfaces land in the right order. See the kitchen remodeling page or call 469-340-0841.

Straight answers
Custom Islands & Countertops Questions
Can you add an island to my existing kitchen?
Usually, yes, when the clearances work. The free visit measures walkways, door swings, and appliance doors, and confirms the floor and electrical can support the island before it is priced.
What countertop materials do you install?
Quartz, granite, and other natural and engineered stone. Samples are reviewed at your table, in your light, and the choice is made with care and cleaning explained plainly for each option.
Are countertops measured before or after the cabinets are set?
After. Counters are templated once the cabinets and island base are installed and level, so the stone is cut to the room as built, not to a drawing.
How long does an island and countertop project take?
The schedule is set in writing at the visit, once stone choice and scope are known. Stone fabrication follows templating, and install days are sequenced so the kitchen is down for the shortest honest stretch.
What do custom islands and countertops cost?
Estimates start as low as $8,500, depending on what your project needs. The firm price for your kitchen is set in writing at the free visit, before any work begins.
